We all know that wrenching feeling in Sunday evenings — the thought of going back to work the next day already dreads your energy and mood. It must be nice to be constantly motivated to get the job done without letting the Monday blues attack you.
...or maybe you can actually do that?
It's always stressing to be doing the same thing every single day, but you can't just run away from reality that easily. Well, one of the best things to uplift your working mood is to actually change the way your space looks to create a motivating ambience and get your working spirit on the right track! It might sound dreading, but trust me — it's not as tedious as it sounds to be.
Changing your working environment doesn't have to be drastic, and it's not about chasing deadlines either. You can definitely follow your own pace, and the whole point of doing it is to have a fresh start for yourself!
Step 1: Organization is your best friend.
Overtime , your workspace might be cluttered with documents, files and just miscellaneous stuff that you didn't realize you have in the first place. As ugly as it gets, you might not realize this happening because of the workload you're facing and how you focus on completing it.
All the clutter that's been building up at your desk right now can actually lead yourself stressing out and having mental difficulties throughout the day. Researchers at Princeton University in 2011 found that clutter could actually lead to difficulty of focusing on completing a certain task.
The best first step of changing your working environment is to have an organization system for your space. Allocate some time during the day to get rid of the things you don't need in your space: old files, papers, documents. If you find that you still need to keep these things for future use, organize them in piles and categorize them so that you can reach them out easily and without a hassle. You'll definitely see the major difference organization brings into your space and how it can actually help you to keep yourself sane in the workspace the whole day!

Step 2: Consistency is key.
Now you've got your decluttered, organized space, your mind feels free and ready to get to work. Though, all those organizing will definitely go to waste if you just won't keep it that way and overall abandon the system you've created overtime.
This applies to everything else; cleanliness, tidiness, and your mindset too! Set aside 5 minutes of everyday rearranging the things on your desk or taking out that trash bin filled of yours to keep your space tidy and neat all the time. If you keep on procrastinating, all the trash and clutter will build up again and your space will end up in a huge mess that you have to stressfully take over later on. Make this as a habit of yours, and you'll definitely thank yourself for this in the future.
Step 3: Time to bring your personality into your space!
Having a clean, tidy and organized space is definitely a huge step into upgrading your space. But, you might feel that there's something missing in your space. Here's where the décor comes in!
Include décor into your space which fits in with your taste and personality to upgrade your space. You don't need to spend a lot of money to achieve this — use what you already have as décor and you'll notice how that changes the way your workspace looks and feels to you! Alternatively, you can definitely utilize your organization tools as décor to bring in color and ultimately upgrade your office space!
