Working from home might be the best option for someone who is a homebody, but on the other hand, it might be a difficult time for them to separate work and home.
Speaking of working from home, we are all pretty clear at this point about Covid and how it affected our lives, including moving your work station into your home. It's either having classes online, or having board meetings through Zoom, having a dedicated space to do your work is absolutely crucial in order to keep that focus going through all the time.
You probably already have a room as a work station, or maybe you only have a desk ready for your at-home working time. Fret not, joining Google Meet classes or completing that project report your boss asks you to might be a little bit better if you get started on revamping your home office with these simple steps!
Step 1: Identify a suitable space in your home for your work.
It's definitely very crucial to separate school or work apart from home. You don't want yourself to be checking the fridge for snacks every 5 minutes in the middle of a Google Meet class. With that so, dedicating a specific space in your house to do your work at can help you focus and designate your time and attention towards your work.
If best, try to locate your workspace in a well-lit and well-aired space for you to enhance your work experience better. if you just don't have the space to, just find a space that allows you to be away from distractions as best as possible; for example, dedicate a little corner in your bedroom as your working station to avoid catching yourself watching tv in the living room with the rest of your family.
Making sure that you have your own desk to work is also important for you to be able to work comfortably and efficiently. This way, you are able to have your own separate space for yourself to do your work as well as storing your work items at a designated space without misplacing them anywhere else in the house. Also, try to change your chair into an ergonomic office chair to help support your body posture while you're working on hours at the desk. Investing in an office chair is definitely worth it for those 10 hours of working at home every day.

Step 2: Utilize every inch of space you get at your work station.
Now, not everyone has the privilege to have a designated room or a big space to turn it into a home office, but that doesn't mean that you can't make do of what you have and turn it into one! Saving space for your home office is essential in order for you to avoid cluttering and ensuring a comfortable space for you to work in.
Say that your working desk is against a wall; make do of the space that you have on the wall to use it as storage space for your needs! Install floating shelves against the wall and organize your belongings in storage bins/baskets. Label them with their relevant categories for you to have easy access to whenever you need them. This way, you're able to free up space on your desk to actually do your work on!
Another tip is to only use the things you need and only keep the ones that are essential. Décor can be very cute and pretty sometimes, but if it's just unnecessary and it takes up space for your work station, try to minimize or use the organization system in place of décor to maximize the space you have efficiently yet keeping your space look pretty!
Step 3: Have fun making it work for you!
Being in your own home means that you have the authority to decorate your own space however you want! Don't be afraid of incorporating bold colors for your work space or use that antique desk that you already have in your home as your work desk.
It's nothing better than letting your creativity lead you to create a mindful and stunning work space in your own home. Making sure that you have your own comfortable, organized and a space that you find look pretty to you is definitely important for your well-being and to get you working through the day in your own home.
