Over these past few years, the upsurge of aesthetics and cute interior décor is a major role in drawing potential customers in, especially cafés. As we all know, cafés are designed to welcome people from different backgrounds to come and have a chat with their loved ones together with a nice brunch on the side, or maybe getting school work done and staying productive with a cup of coffee at the side. It's just this hub of positive energy that people just love to go and seek for.

Throughout these years, there's this upward trend of people's interest towards aesthetics and well-decorated spaces due to the upsurge of posting content in social media, mainly Instagram. Drawing in customers into your café means that you have to make your café alluring your customer's eyes before offering them your specialties in the menu.

What's more important is that having these instagrammable spots or ambience in your café not only provides your customers with the picture perfect spot to take pretty photos at, but rather create this positive and welcoming feel into your café by letting your customers experience the beauty and aesthetics of your café. So, here's how you can start creating a welcoming space in your café to welcome more people into your space!

Step 1: Understand your brand and identity of your café

It does seem tempting to put in everything that you have and include every single pretty thing into your café to make it look pretty, but that will just be useless if you're not really promoting your business and rather trying hard to make a random space that might end up looking jumbled up and messy. Understand what your brand delivers and try to come up with an identity for your café in before starting the decorating process.

Let's say that your business' identity is to provide a relaxing space for customers to enjoy in and have a great time. You certainly don't want to make your space all cluttered and messy right? So, try to apply a relaxing, calming environment into your design to express your business' identity with the customer by using only a single color palette, and using minimal items to create a decluttered, fresh space.

Step 2: Design for your customers, not for yourself

So now that you've understood the identity behind your business, it's time to figure out the layout of your space. What's the use of having a beautifully decorated space if your customers can't even move around nicely? Planning the layout of your space is definitely crucial to create the welcoming ambience that you want for your customers.

Sometimes, it might be better if you position the seating area nearby your counterspace so you won't have to walk a lot, but what if that layout might cause your customers to have a difficult time chatting with their friends because of the noise created behind the counter tops?

Consider spending enough time to think through about the layout of your café and remember to prioritize your customers to make them feel attached with your space and business!

Additionally, think through of the smallest things that a lot of people might not think about that much such as lighting. If your space is located in a location where there are lots of natural sunlight coming in, then that's a bonus for you! However, if you feel like your space is a bit too dark, then considering on getting overhead lighting or light fixtures that can help light up the space as well as creating a comfortable, warm environment for your customers to be in.

Getting light fixtures is also a great way to add décor into your space!

Step 3: Cleanliness is above them all

You're space is cute, that's great. You have tons of instagrammable spots to take photos at, that's brilliant. But what's the use of having these things in your space if you couldn't keep it clean?

Even if your café is the most prettiest café that you have around town, people still won't be interested if you can't keep your space clean at all times. As the saying goes, consistency is key. Make sure your space is always clean and ready for new customers so that your customers will feel comfortable being in your space. Wipe down shelves, tables, chairs and décor consistently in order to ensure the cleanliness of your space is taken care of.

Starting with these steps will help you getting started on upgrading your café space, or you can even apply these tips if you're just starting to. Remember to not be too harsh on yourself and you don't have to copy whatever anyone else is doing, because at the end of the day your business is unique on its own way!
